Where Private Meets Public? Nasdaq Plans Private Company Exchange
As reported in Venture Capital Dispatch, Nasdaq disclosed that it is considering establishing a marketplace where shareholders of private (VC-backed) companies could sell their shares. Similar to PORTAL, which allows qualified investors to trade unregistered securities, the proposed market would provide a regulated environment for trading shares in companies not yet ready for the public markets.
