Thanks ~ Giving
At SRS | Shareholder Representative Services, we have so much to be thankful for. While we know that 2009 was a difficult year for many, it was a banner year in the development of our company. In the short two years since SRS was founded, we have been appointed shareholder representative in over 50 transactions valued at more than $8 billion. We are extremely thankful to the entrepreneurs, investors, management and employees of the selling companies who trust us to professionally manage the ever-increasing complexity of post-closing matters in the sales of their companies. SRS now represents over 5,000 former shareholders who had the inspiration to found, nurture and grow great companies. We are appreciative of the support provided by the M&A legal community who shepherd the acquisition process and, when necessary, post-closing disputes. And, we are especially thankful to the venture capital community that has rapidly embraced a new player in the venture M&A eco-system – the professional shareholder representative.
When we started SRS in 2007, we made a commitment to our communities that we would give back. In fact, our operating agreement requires us to contribute 1% of our distributions to charitable organizations. At this time of Thanksgiving, we are pleased to announce our designee-organizations for 2009, the Entrepreneurs Foundation (Bay Area) and the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado. Both organizations have similar missions, helping entrepreneurial companies give back to their communities through allocations of pre-IPO stock and creating company-sponsored programs which permit and encourage their employees to give volunteer time. We are pleased to be supportive of their efforts.
From all of us at SRS – Happy Thanksgiving!
